Shark Tank is the one show that makes you sit back and think to yourself, “I could have totally come up with that idea,” with a bit of regret and a mental forehead smack. The inventions are sometimes borderline ridiculous, sometimes completely ridiculous and oftentimes completely ingenious. However, not all of the ideas that the judges love and OK actually make it; in fact, only half of them actually work outside the television screen. It might make you wonder who actually ended up being the richest shark in the tank?

The Product

It might surprise many people to realize which product has made its inventor the richest shark in the tank. With more than 500 business ventures pitched over the past five years, you probably have a few ideas of your own. If you’re thinking that the Scrub Daddy, the bright yellow sponge that changes texture based on water temperature is it, you’re correct.

The purpose of this scrub is to tackle any cleaning project around the house. It eliminates the need to find different towels or sponges to help you clean hard to clean areas such as tile, bathtubs, toilets or even hardwood flooring.

The Inventor

The man behind the happy face is now worth more than $18 million, making him the richest shark in the tank. Aaron Krause had the “bright” idea and presented it to the Shark Tank, taking an offer of $200,000 and 20 percent of the stake from Lori Greiner. The product was on the show in 2012 and has now sold more than $18 million in product, always selling out immediately when featured on QVC. Aaron Krause is definitely reaping the benefits, and he’s even working with Greiner on several new products, including a few scrub blocks that will further make cleaning your house a breeze.
