The Richest News Anchors in the United States

News anchors have to get up pretty early every morning – at least those on television first thing – and they get paid handsomely for their jobs. Some of them are put in the middle of dangerous situations in foreign countries, and many of them are on the go most of their lives, which makes it difficult to balance family and work lives. However, they’re paid well to make up for their hard work, and these are the five wealthiest (current) news anchors in the country – and no, we didn’t take talk show hosts that touch on the news into consideration.

Megyn Kelly – $15 million

She’s a former attorney who now hosts America Live. Kelly earns a reported $6 million per year behind the anchor desk, making her one of the highest-paid news anchors on television today. She’s also one of the wealthiest with her net worth of $15 million.

Maria Bartiromo – $22 million

She co-hosted CNBC’s Closing Bell, and worked with the company for more than 20 years. In 2013, Bartiromo left CNBC to work for the FOX Network. She earns a reported $4 million per year for her role behind the news desk. Her net worth was accumulated over more than two decades reporting the news.

Robin Roberts – $25 million

We all know her and love her on Good Morning America, and we all cheered for her as she endured some health issues no one deserves to deal with. She’s worth an estimated $25 million. At the moment, it looks as though she’ll be even richer, considering the fact that she reportedly just signed a contract with ABC to make more than $14 million per year.

Brian Williams – $40 million

He’s the host of NBC’s Nightly News. Williams’ is not only one of the country’s richest news anchors, he’s also one of the most well-paid. His annual salary is reportedly over $13 million per year. Additionally, his daughter has entered the world of entertainment and is one of the characters on the television show, Girls.

Anderson Cooper – $100 million

He’s worked for both ABC and CNN and he’s even hosted other shows as a guest anchor. He makes a reported $10 million per year reporting the latest breaking news. However, Cooper’s net worth is not all from his work. He’s a Vanderbilt descendent, and his mother is famed fashion designer Gloria Vanderbilt, so a lot of his net worth is family money.
