The Richest Car Rental Companies in the World

Renting a vehicle is an experience unlike any other. The benefit is having your own transportation when you travel without your own vehicle, but the downside is waiting in long lines and paying entirely too much for a rental on many occasions. However, it’s a big industry and probably always will be. You can’t check your car at baggage claim, so you often have no choice but to rent a vehicle. You’ll probably rent from one of these companies, since they’re the richest rental companies in the world.

Sixt – $2.15 million

It’s a German rental car company that offers a lot more than your every day rental car company. It’s not located everywhere, but it is located in a few US locations. You can rent high-end vehicles here and each one cannot be older than 6 months and it cannot exceed 25,000 miles or it is not allowed in the fleet any longer.

Dollar/Thrifty Automotive Group – $1.6 billion

With a fleet of more than 107,000 vehicles at thousands of locations all over the world, it makes sense that this rental care company is one of the richest. It’s not known for its expensive luxury vehicles, but it is known for the lowest prices and the cheapest rentals.

Avis/Budget Group – $5.9 billion

Most people don’t realize that Avis and Budget are the same family, but they are. Between the two companies they have more than 393,000 vehicles in their fleet and thousands of locations all over the world. They’re found in airports and as stand-alone rental companies.

Hertz Global – $8.3 billion

Hertz has some of the nicest everyday vehicles available for rent. Their fleet includes more than 615,000 vehicles, and their prices are always a bit more expensive than some of the other companies on this list. They have a bigger selection of high-end rental cars, and it’s because they have a much larger fleet to accommodate at their thousands of worldwide locations.

Enterprise – $ 14 billion

Enterprise is the most successful, richest car rental company in the world. With more than $14 billion in revenue, this rental agency far exceeds the others. It’s the owner of other car rental companies such as Alamo and National. Between each agency, there are more than 1 million vehicles in its fleet.
