Jason Day Net Worth

Jason Day is an Australian golfer with a net worth of approximately $17 million. Born in 1987 in Queensland, Australia, Day has been golfing most of his life and he is exceptionally talented. Married to his wife, Ellie Harvey, since 2009, he likes to do everything at a young age, making it clear to the world that he is a driven and ambitious young man. He’s been in the public eye since he broke into the top 10 in 2011, and we’ve been seeing a lot of him ever since. He finished as the runner up in the U.S. Open that year, which drew attention to his talent and his skill.

It was February of 2014 when Day took home the title at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, which was his first. He then won his first tournament in 2015 when he scored 20 under par at the 2015 PGA Championship, which was enough to bring him up to the number three spot in the world of PGA golfers. He’s been golfing since the age of 6, when his father brought him to a local golf club and enrolled him in golf classes as a junior member. He was only  allowed six holes each day as a junior member of the club, but that did not stop him from perfecting his skill. It was less than two years later than his family moved to another part of Australia and Day began winning events there and in surrounding areas.

Unfortunately, Days’ father passed away when he was only 12 after losing a battle to stomach cancer. That left Day with his mother and two siblings, but his mother made sure he did not lose his drive and abilities to golf. She enrolled him in a school with a golf course so that he could practice anytime he wanted, and it was probably the best thing she could have done for him. A book written by Tiger Woods inspired him to practice his game early in the morning, in the evenings and at lunch so that he could perfect his skill, and it seems to have worked. That’s when he won his first big title at the 2000 Australian Masters Junior event; he was only 13 at the time.

He married his wife in 2009, and the couple is expecting their second child together. Unfortunately, just as he was becoming really famous and his game was improving tremendously, he lost 8 of his family members in the Philippines, where his mother is from, in Typhoon Haiyan. This came only 7 years after he signed some of his biggest sponsorships and endorsements with TaylorMade and Adidas, and it’s been a rough go for him since. However, he was able to pull through and become the youngest Australian to win a PGA Tour event at the HP Byron Nelson Championship. When Greg Norman withdrew from the 2010 US Open, he was given his first entry into the competition.

Day earns a nice salary with his wins, but the bulk of his net worth comes from his endorsements with major brands such as TaylorMade and Adidas.
