Iggy Azalea's net worth

Iggy Azalea is one of the most successful female rappers today with a staggering net worth of approximately $10 million.  That number is most certainly climbing as her star continues to rise.  Currently Azalea is dating current NBA Laker Nick Young and the two can be seen on Lip Sync battle on the Spike Network.   Iggy Azalea, whose real name is Amethyst Amelia Kelly was born on June 7, 1990 in Sydney Australia.

As a white girl from Australia, Azalea as opening admitted to being an outsider in the world of hip-hop.  However that hasn’t stopped her from being one of the biggest names in the genre.  Iggy spent most of her childhood living with her father who was a painter and comic artist, and her mother who was a hotel cleaner.  Azalea began rapping at the age of 14 and formed a group with two other girls in her neighborhood.

She later dropped out of high school and began working with her mother.  In 2006 she moved to the United States right before the age of 16.  She was supposed to come her for vacation but eventually she told her parents that she wouldn’t be coming back. At first she stayed in Miami, then Houston, then Georgia.  In 2010 she made her permanent home in Los Angeles where she still lives today.

In 2011, she started to upload her freestyle videos on YouTube. Azalea’s career saw major rise when her controversial song “Two Times,” went viral on the video-sharing site. In September 2011, Azalea released her first full-length project, a mixtape entitled Ignorant Art. It was followed by TrapGold, her second mixtape that came a year later.

In 2012, Azalea made history becoming the first non-American female rapper to be featured on XXL’s annual Top 10 Freshman cover issue. Hip hop fans must be familiar with her current hit singles “Work” and “Bounce,” which are part of her debut studio album The New Classic, which was released in April 2014.

Azalea’s income mainly comes from her music but she has also earned money from modeling and collaborating on moves like Fast and the Furious 7.
