Cameron Diaz is a California-girl turned actress and model with a net worth of $90 million. She’s best known for roles in major motion pictures, and for her good looks, which is where she accrued her substantial fortune. She’s been working since she was only 16-years-old, using her natural beauty and acting skills to earn her place in Hollywood.

Born on August 30, 1972 in beautiful San Diego, Cameron Michelle Diaz is a product of several nationalities. She’s the daughter of Billie and Emilio Diaz. Her mother is of English and German descent and her father is Cuban. Diaz was what her parents described as a child with a big personality and a tough exterior, which led her to leave home when she was just 16-years-old. She worked for five years as a model in countries all over the world, including Japan and Paris. During this time she worked on campaigns for major designer brands such as Calvin Klein. It took her until she was 21-years-old to return to California where she continued to work as a model.

In 1993, Diaz was a 21-year-old model working in California when her modeling agency approached her with an offer she couldn’t refuse. The agency managed to schedule her an audition for the lead female role in a movie that was about to begin production. That movie was called, “The Mask,” and starred a comedian by the name of Jim Carrey, a comedian whose fame was rising quickly. Diaz had absolutely no acting experience in the past, but directors and producers of The Mask liked her enough to give her the part, and she became an instant celebrity when the movie hit theaters in 1994. The Mask was an instant hit, earning millions in theaters and launching both Diaz and Carrey’s careers.

For several years, Diaz decided to turn down roles in major movies while she learned how to act. She took classes, and starred in some smaller independent films featuring bold and exciting characters so she could become a skilled actress. These films included, “Head Above Water,” and “The Last Supper.” It wasn’t until 1997 that Diaz decided to accept another role in a major blockbuster. This time she played opposite Julia Roberts in the hit movie, “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” and impressed fans working with one of the most famous actresses of our time.

In 1998 she had the lead role in the hilarious and well-received movie, “There’s Something About Mary,” which made her one of the most popular, most famous actresses of the 90s. Her role in the movie earned Diaz a Golden Globe nomination; her first of many. Her career has now spanned more than 20 years, and she’s starred in many multi-million dollar movies including, “Charlie’s Angels,” “Gangs of New York,” “Vanilla Sky,” and “Charlie’s Angels.” She provides the voice for Princess Fiona in the Shrek movies, which grossed billions worldwide, the second installment of the major franchise earning more than $919 million in boxes offices alone. When she was cast in “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle,” she was paid a staggering $20 million for her role. She was only the third actress ever to receive such a large salary for one role. In 2009, Diaz was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Outside of her role as one of Hollywood’s hottest actresses, Cameron Diaz has an interesting personal life. The actress makes no secret of her desire to stay fit and healthy. She works out in the gym and with a trainer, but her favorite pastime is surfing. She’s never married and she has no children, despite her active dating life. She’s been involved in long-term relationships with some of the biggest celebrities in the world, including former boy band singer Justin Timberlake and baseball star Alex Rodriguez.

Diaz is heavily involved in several charitable foundations. She does work for organizations such as Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America and she is an advocate for military families in need.

Diaz has had a successful career that has awarded her a number of recognitions. She’s been nominated for Golden Globes for her roles in “There’s Something About Mary,” for Best Actress in 1998 and “Being John Malkovich” for Best Supporting Actress in 1999 and “Vanilla Sky,” in 2001 as well as “Gangs of New York,” in 2002. She’s been nominated for several BAFTA and SAG awards as well. While she didn’t win any of those awards, she did win a New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actress for “There’s Something About Mary,” and a Chicago Film Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actress in “Vanilla Sky.”

Diaz continues to accept roles in blockbuster movies, which will certainly help to increase her net worth. Having an estimated net worth of $90 million accumulated over the course of 20 years is nothing to be ashamed of, but Diaz’s beauty and talent will likely earn her millions more in the future.
