Citizen Watch Opening Up Its Flagship Store in Times Square, NYC

2010 Times Square New Year's Eve

Citizen Watch Company has long been the leader in the mid-priced watch market in the United States. The brand offers a level of luxury relative to the top brands, but at a more affordable price. Continuing to maneuver in the global watch market, Citizen has announced the upcoming debut of brand’s global flagship store in Times Square, New York City.

Located at 1500 Broadway this will be the first global retail concept store in North America. According to President and CEO Toshio Tokura,

“As a truly global brand Citizen Watch Company represents people from throughout the world, so there is no better place than Times Square to share our international brand message.”

Jeffrey Cohen, President of Citizen Watch America added,

“It’s an exciting time for Citizen as we open our flagship store in New York and also launch our new BETTER STARTS NOW brand campaign. Leveraging the strength of our proprietary Eco-Drive light powered technology where watches never need a battery, Citizen is poised to build on our success and accelerate our growth.”

The new store will consist of 1,300 square feet of opportunity to offer Citizens’ full range of watches. The wide-variety of active watches to diamond-studded watches will truly show the consumer the grand scale that the brand operates on. Citizen has hired New York-based architectural firm Mapos, LLC for the store, which is expected to open in November. We’re looking forward to it!
