The Average Unit at NYC’s Tallest Residential Building, 432 Park Avenue, Costs $16.95 Million

The NYC Skyline at Night

432 Park Avenue, located between 56th and 57th street in New York City, is the tallest residential building in the Western Hemisphere. The supertall tower and prime piece of real estate stopped growing earlier this week with its final concrete pour–taking place three years after the start of the building’s construction. Standing at 1,396 feet, 432 Park Avenue has surpassed the Empire State Building (1,250 feet) and the Chrysler Building (1,046 feet) and is the tallest building in the United States when measured by roof height–it’s 28 feet taller than the One World Trade Center. Currently available units start at an average price of a cool $16.95 million, while residents will be able to move into their spacious apartments as early as next year. Unit prices start at $7 million and work all the way up to the $95 million penthouse.

Developed by Macklowe Properties and CIM Group and designed by Rafael Vinoly, the residential building boasts 104 luxury condominium complexes starting at 356 feet from the ground–more than half have already been sold–ranging from a 351-square foot studio apartment to a six-bedroom, seven-bath penthouse with a library. Each unit features 12.5-foot high ceilings, 10-foot by 10-foot glass windows, a private elevator landing, his and her bathrooms with heated marble floors, breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline and beyond, and even the option of purchasing staff apartments and a climate-controlled wine cellar for an additional $320,000. Residents will be treated to more than 30,000 square feet of private amenities, including a restaurant, an outdoor terrace, a gym, a 75-foot pool, and a massage therapy room. The elegant and towering square structure required the demolition of the 495-room Drake Hotel built in 1926. The initial construction of 432 Park Avenue began in 2011 and plans to be completed sometime this winter.
