The ongoing battle for airplane luxury is going to make traveling very nice for the frequent flyer. Airlines around the world are investing billions of dollars for luxury supremacy in the sky and we’re not really sure it makes long term sense for any of them.

The latest contender to step into the fray is Air France. New luxury suites will be available this September onboard Air France’s Boeing 777-300 fleet. “La Premiere’ represents a bold move for Air France as they seek to drive French luxury international travel. According to Air France’s Chairman and CEO Frederic Gagey:

“Our new La Premiere suite, from among all our new products and services, is the one that best represents our commitment to service excellence and a French travel experience.”

There are 76 suites on 19 Boeing 777s used for international use. Suite passengers will have access to a full complement of entertainment options in 12 languages accessed through 24-inch HD display. There will also be fully-adjustable seats with massage capabilities. The suites will also include fine dining options from world-class chefs and fine wines from around the world. For sleeping purposes passengers have the option to sleep in a 6.5-foot-long lay-flat bed with Sofitel pillows and linens.

Enter Air France! It’s not the over-the-top luxury of Etihad, but it puts Air France in the mix!
