Traveling across the world is not only extremely fun, but it is also a great way for you to broaden your horizions, see new things, and gain a perspective as to how other people live their lives. Frequently travelers will often tell you that traveling around is one of the most rewarding things you can do. However there is one major problem: it costs money. Sure you can backpack, stay in hostels, and eat canned food to save money, but it’s still expensive to travel. So what if there were ways that you could actually make money and travel at the same time? Well actually there are a few different ways that you can do that. Let’s take a look at how you can make money from traveling the world.

10. Become a trader

So you want to not only travel to exotic locations, but you want to make money as well? Well a great way to do so is to become a trader of foreign goods. All you have to do is find the right location and the right product to trade, and boom, you can make a lot of money. For example you could travel to Turkey, purchase some local products that are “indigenous” to that region (in this case, rugs or ceramics) and then travel back to your home to sell them at a profit.

9. Become a travel blogger

Being a blogger is a difficult way to make money, but if you can pull it off, it’s extremely rewarding. Essentially all you have to do is travel around the world, and then share and talk about your experiences online. You can tell stories, review local restaurants, and map out local tour routes for other travelers. The freedom of what you write and where you go is up to you, and it’s definitely an awesome gig if you can make money.

8. Work as a flight attendant

Another way you can make money from traveling is becoming a flight attendant. Sure the hours can be rough and you’re always at a different locations, however it’s not the most demanding work in the world. And when you stop at an airport for a layover or something, you’ve got some time to explore the local area.

The Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms is an interesting organization that puts up travelers around the world to work at farms. You’ll go out to a location to work on an organic farm. The work is tough, however it’s extremely rewarding and for a good cause. You can spend a few months on a farm or a few years, and food and accommodations will be provided for you.

6. Become a destination wedding photographer

Destination weddings are very popular, and there are plenty of people that work as photographers for these types of wedding. You’ll need experience with photography and have to own the equipment, but wedding parties will pay you handsomely and you will fly out to various locations throughout the world, which are often extremely beautiful.

If you’re a history buff that likes to travel, becoming a tour guide is a great way to make money while traveling. You’ll get to work at amazing historical sites throughout the world and you can totally immerse yourself in the local culture. Besides if you like doing this, it’s kind of a dream job. Imagine if you could make a living by only talking about your interests. Well you can as a a tour guide!

Now joining the Peace Corps is something you really have to fully commit to. They expect you to commit at least 27 months of your life to them, and you’ll most likely be sent out to impoverished and war torn areas. While it’s not for everyone, if you want to help people in-need and travel around the world, the Peace Corps is a viable option.

There are plenty of jobs onboard cruise ships, and many don’t even require any specific set of skills. You’ll live on the ship pretty much full time, however cruise ships pretty much exclusively travel to beautiful locations like the islands of the Caribbean. Sure, you’ll primarily be working, however on your time off you can explore the local area. And besides, your accommodations and food are all taken care of.

2. Work as a researcher for a travel guide

This job is similar to becoming a travel blogger. Essentially you’ll travel around the world and right about your experiences. You’ll review local hot spots, find the best places to eat, and more. It’s somewhat demanding work, but your essentially a travel writer and doesn’t that sound really cool?

1. Become an English teacher 

There is a strong demand in many countries across the world for native English speakers to come and teach the language in their country. Schools in South America, Asia, the Middle East, and elsewhere are seeking English speakers to come in and teach the language. I actually know someone personally who is doing exactly this in China and he’s making a decent living. You don’t even need to speak the native language to get the job, and teaching is extremely rewarding.
