Piaget Creates the World’s Thinnest Chronograph Watch

Piaget chronograph thin

There seems to be a growing trend around the world where everything is getting smaller and thinner. Our phones are thinner, our televisions are thinner, and now our watches are getting thinner. While many watch manufacturers look to create insane timepieces, sometimes a minimalistic approach is best. That is exactly what Piaget has done with their newest creation, the Piaget Altiplano Chronograph, and it is now the worlds thinnest chronograph watch.

Piaget is pretty well known for creating extremely slim watches and every year they try to one-up themselves with their newest creations. This brand new Altiplano Chronograph watch is pretty amazing and is extremely thin. Chronographs are usually large due to their more complex and demanding movements, but Piaget found a way to make this watch super slim. This beautiful timepiece features the company’s all-new 883P caliber movement that is only 4.65mm “thick”. The case of the watch is only slightly larger at 8.24mm thick, which is still extremely thin. It also makes the watch very lightweight as well.

While the watch seems fairly simple and minimalistic in nature, on the inside it is very complex. The Altiplan Chronograph has a fairly unique flyback chronograph which is different than many other chronographs as one presses the button at 4 o’clock to reset the chronograph. Additionally the watch also has a GMT within it allowing the small dial located near the 9 o’clock position to display the hours in a different time zone, a great feature for travelers.

Those looking to get their hands on this amazing chronograph will have to wait until September unfortunately. The watch will be available in either rose-gold or white-gold making it very premium. It also has a fairly premium price-tag of $28,000 dollars. But that’s what you get for owning the world’s thinnest chronograph watch.
