Luxury Swiss watch manufacturer Movado have recently teamed up with HP to create a very unique watch that looks like it came right out of the TRON movies. They are calling in the Movado Bold Motion and it’s a watch thats somewhere in-between a traditional analog watch and a modern smartwatch.
The watch is constructed primarily from stainless steel with a black PVD finish. The 43.5 mm watch features a black dial, a black silicone strap, and a standard Movado quartz movement. The hands, circumference of the dial, and hour indicators are then accentuated with either white or teal LED lights, giving it that TRON feel.
The most interesting feature of the Movado Bold Motion is how it performs like a smartwatch. The device uses Bluetooth and can pair with most iOS or Android devices. However instead of a touchscreen to alert you who liked your most recent Instagram post, for example, the watch will vibrate and it’s LED lights will blink instead. Depending on where the notification is coming from, the watch will alert you in different variations so you can tell the difference. Additionally the device will be able to track your steps, like most smartwatches and pedometers.
The Movado Bold Motion is set to release sometime soon, and you can pre-order the watch over on Movado’s website. You’ll be looking at spending about $695 dollars for the device, which is to be expected given the type of brand Movado is. If you want a hybrid analog-smartwatch that is a bit different from most devices on the market, then the Bold Motion is for you.
