Gucci is an Italian fashion and luxury leather goods brand founded by Guccio Gucci in Florence, Italy in 1921. Since then, it has become one of the world’s most renowned and recognizable brands, with sales totaling $4.7 billion and a brand value of $12.1 billion as of 2013. Currently part of the Gucci Group, which is owned by French multinational company Kering, Gucci is the biggest-selling Italian brand in the world and operates more than 250 directly operated stores across the globe and wholesales its products through franchises and upscale department stores. As an immigrant hotel worker in Paris and London, a young Guccio Gucci was so impressed with the luxurious luggage he saw urbane guests bring with them that upon returning to his birthplace of Florence, he established a shop in 1920 that sold fine leather goods with classic styling. Gucci’s stores featured finely crafted leather accessories like leather handbags, shoes, and his iconic ornamented loafer along with silks and knitwear in a signature pattern. Over the years, Gucci expanded into a number of new markets and introduced a slew of new products in the 1960s and 1970s, including jewelry, ties, eyewear, and watches for both men and women. The following is a list of the most expensive Gucci women’s watches available on the market today. With a collective price tag of more than $28,000, these five watches are pretty costly.
