A Brief Look Into Hugo Boss Chronograph Watches

Hugo Boss is a world famous German fashion, style, and design house that operates out of the city of Metzingen. The company has been around since 1924 and is one of the more prominent fashion companies that is not based in either France or Italy. What originally started as a clothing company by founder Hugo Boss, has now evolved into producing a wide and diverse product line. Despite taking some flak during the post WWII era for supplying the Nazi’s with their uniforms, the company is well respected today. In addition to their clothing lineup, Hugo Boss also produces a variety of watches, with their chronograph series being the most prominent.

A chronograph watch is one that has multiple smaller watch faces within the main face of the watch, that display other information. Originally the chronograph watch was one that had a built in stopwatch that was independent of the main watch face. Inherently, these various functions make chronograph watches more complex and harder to construct. The early stopwatch feature has now expanded to a variety of other functions that the smaller, independent faces can display.

Hugo Boss currently has 27 different chronograph watches at various price points for both men and women, however the majority of their chronograph watches (24) are made for men. The most expensive chronograph they have, is the “Chronograph Black Silicon  Logo Strap” (pictured above). The watch is all black and displays the time, a countdown function, a racing chronograph function, an alarm, and the day of the month. The watch is made from stainless steel and is water resistant up to 10 ATM and costs $550. Conversely on the low end of their watches they have watches that start at $175 dollars.

Hugo Boss watches seem cool, however their most expensive chronograph has a silicon band. Their cheaper model have leather and stainless steel bands. I personally would not spend that much money for a watch that has a silicon band; I don’t understand why they do not use a more premium material, but thats the way it goes I guess. You can check out all their chronograph watches on their website.
