The Top Ten Beaches in the U.S.

A8

The top beaches in the United States for 2014 have been released by the man they called Dr. Beach. Sounds a little odd doesn’t it? Well, it’s not – there is a careful analysis done that covers everything from water color, sand softness, the number of sunny days, views, noise levels and more. Think noise levels are dumb? Not even close, a nice quiet beach is the best.

Dr. Beach and his careful analysis has revealed the Top 10 Beaches in the United States for 2014. To no one’s surprise, a few of them are in Hawaii, but most of them are in Florida. In fact, the top beach in the country is Duke Kahanamoku Beach on Oahu, Hawaii. Protected by an offshore coral reef, the beach was created by dragging sand in from beyond the reef. Named after the Olympic swimmer, who is best known for introducing surfing to the outside world, the beach boasts family-friendly, calm, scenic swimming areas.

The breakdown of the Top 10 looks like this: Florida (4), Hawaii (3), the Carolinas, and one lone representative in Hawaii.

1.) Duke Kahanamoku Beach, Waikiki, Oahu, Hawaii
2.) Barefoot Beach Bonita Springs, Florida
3.) St. George Island State Park, Florida
4.) Waimanalo Bay Beach Park, Oahu, Hawaii
5.) Hamoa Beach, Maui, Hawaii
6.) Cape Hatteras, Outer Banks of North Carolina
7.) Cape Florida State Park Key Biscayne, Florida
8.) Coast Guard Beach, Cape Cod, Massachusetts
9.) Beachwalker Park, Kiawah Island, South Carolina
