The Most Expensive Pairs of Running Shoes

Nike

Serious runners understand the importance of good shoes. They’re designed to cushion and protect the feet from the wear and tear of running, while still managing to ensure that runners are comfortable and efficient. For this reason alone, many running shoes are a bit on the pricey side. However, these shoes are the most expensive running shoes in the world.

Gold Running Shoes – $24,000

These gold shoes are completely impractical, and they’re entirely too expensive. They’re not made of solid gold, just gold plating. They sold in 2007 for $24,000 to a runner in Shanghai. Whether or not the purchaser of these shoes uses them for running is unknown, but it’s assumed they’re not shoes a person would want to dirty.

Nike Air Zoom Kobe 1 – $30,000

This limited edition sneaker was created by Nike with only a few to choose from. With nearly four designs, you do have a bit of a diverse choice to make. They’re not sold everywhere, either. They’re only available in major cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City.

Nike’s Air Force 1 Diamond Studded Sneakers – $50,000

These expensive running shoes feature 11 carats of diamonds lining the Nike check along the sides. The shoes are also cast in gold. They’re incredibly sparkly and expensive. These Air Force 1 shoes are the subject of many rap songs, and it is rumored that several celebrities own these shoes in their private shoe collections.

Silver Air Jordans – $60,000

They’re running shoes that are not designed for basketball, however, they do feature the signature of famed basketball player Michael Jordan. These silver plated shoes were signed by the celebrity and sold at auction for nearly $60,000. It was alleged that these shoes were a gift to the superstar and he decided to make them a public feature.

Diamond Studded Nikes – $218,000

Luisa Di Marco is a famous designer who created these shoes for Nike. They feature more than 7 carats of diamonds in addition to white gold, sapphire stones and even a few black diamonds. These shoes are worth more than $218,000 because of all the jewels on the shoes.
