The leather belt is a fashion staple worn by many, regardless of gender, age, or style. It has served us as the most functional way to keep out pants or shorts up, in addition to offering us a small way to express ourselves through fashion. There aren’t that many different ways to design a leather belt, but that doesn’t stop fashion designers from trying. While you can pick up a leather belt for under $50 dollars somewhere, there are plenty out there that are just absurdly expensive. They typically come from high-end labels that pride themselves on their haute clothing. So even though it seems like there are only a few different ways to do the leather belt, there are thousands of different ones out there. But just how expensive can a leather belt actually get? Prada’s Black and Baltic Blue Belt – $520
Like we mentioned before, there are only a few different ways that you can create the leather belt. It’s an accessory that really can be altered that much. Prada knows this, and as you can see, they haven’t done anything crazy with this belt. This reversible belt is made from premium Saffiano leather and it features a polished steel buckle that is engraved with their logo. That’s it. But since it has the words “Prada” on it, it costs $520 dollars.

Zegna’s Black Braided-Nappa Belt – $390
While the Italian fashion giant that is Zegna may be known for their mens suits, that doesn’t mean the don’t make accessories. Take their Black Braided-Nappa Belt, for example. At $390 dollars it’s their most expensive leather belt. It features braided nappa leather that is extremely soft, it has a small buckle that is made from polished palladium, and of course, it’s made in Italy. Otherwise this is a normal belt, but because it’s from Zegna, it’s really expensive.

The Monogram Tassel Chain Belt from Yves Saint Laurent – $995
Yves Saint Laurent is known for their haute, luxury goods and this belt is certainly no exception. At $995 dollars, The Monogram Tassel Chain Belt is not only the most expensive belt for women, it’s their most expensive belt that you can currently buy, regardless of gender. The belt is constructed from leather and then it has an interlocking gold chain that is found over the leather. On one end it has an extension where we find the Yves Saint Laurent logo and the tassel. It’s certainly very eye-catching and premium, but more importantly, at nearly $1,000 dollars it’s absurdly expensive.

The Crocodile Belt with Double G Buckle from Gucci – $995
Gucci definitely knows a thing or two about high-end, expensive fashion products and their Crocodile Belt with Double G Buckle is one of their most expensive belts for both men and women. The name of the product pretty much explains everything you need to know: it’s made from crocodile leather, it features a gold buckle with Gucci’s logo, and it is obviously made in Italy. Crocodile leather is certainly more expensive than other types of leathers, and with that Gucci name on it, you’ve got an expensive fashion accessory on your hands.

Burberry’s Double Buckle Crocodile Leather Belt – $1,595
Burberry has predominantly always been known for their overcoats and jackets, yet like all leading fashion labels, the sell a variety of other products as well. Their Double Buckle Crocodile Leather Belt is currently the most expensive belt that they sell. $1,595 dollars is a lot of money to spend on a belt. That money can go a long ways elsewhere, or you can get this belt. Made in Italy, the belt is tan and is made from, you guessed it, crocodile leather.

The Initials 40mm Crocodile Belt from Louis Vuitton – $3,500
We conclude our list of the most expensive leather belts out there with this insane belt from Louis Vuitton. At $3,500 dollars, it blows all of the other belts (which were already expensive) right out of the water. Made from crocodile leather, this belt is crafted in such a way where the seams are invisible. Outside of that, the belt features the companies initials one the buckle, and the buckle is made from brass ruthenium. It certainly looks good, but does that warrant that absurd price tag? What do our readers think? I personally think this is a bit too much, it is a belt after all. But I suppose it is a belt from Louis Vuitton.
