George Clooney Buys His New Wife an Entire Island as a Wedding Gift

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin

It’s been a few weeks since George Clooney and his new wife, Amal Alamuddin, exchanged their vows and jetted off on their honeymoon. While the most exciting part of their romance is now a thing of the past in the eyes of the general public, many people still want to know what the bride and groom are up to. More importantly, most people want to know what the groom gave to his wife as a wedding gift. It seems that the new Mrs. Clooney was gifted something that most brides only dream of; her own private island.

The island is reportedly located along the Thames River in the Oxfordshire and Berkshire area of England. Oman Bayoumi, the previous owner, didn’t know that it was the actor who purchased his island. However, a patron of the area was in a bar with George Clooney shortly after he purchased the home and island and sent out a tweet that got the world talking.

“George Clooney has bought a house in my village and was drinking in my local last night. We’re going to become best mates,” tweeted a resident of the small island. The house sits on four large acres, features 9 bedrooms, a boathouse, a steam room and a library. It seems that the townspeople are excited to have a celebrity in residence, and they are looking further ahead than the new Clooney family. They’re ready for baby Clooney to make an appearance.

Several townspeople made public statements regarding the fact that the small town has plenty to offer its residents, including a scarecrow festival and amazing schools. Clooney has never seemed like the type of man to want kids, but he also said he’d never marry so it’s a wonder whether or not the new Mrs. Clooney and George will begin a family of their own at some point.
