Moscot Celebrates Its 100 Year Anniversary With Limited Edition Glasses

Moscot 1

Moscot is an American manufacturer and brand of luxury eyewear that is based out of New York City. Thy brand was founded by Hyman Moscot, an immigrant from Eastern Europe who came to New York via Ellis Island in 1899. He began selling glasses off of his push cart in Manhattan, and eventually opened a shop in 1915. While they are relatively small, Moscot has provided and created frames for Lance Armstrong, Kanye West, Sting, Denzel Washington, Reneé Zellweger, and most notably Johnny Depp (he’s pretty much always seen wearing their frames). The company is still family owned to this day, and is celebrating its 100 year anniversary by introducing a limited series of their famous Lemtosh frames.

Lemtosh Smart

The first pair of glasses Moscot introduced are the Lemtosh Smart. These traditional glasses feature the companies Pantone 602 C Yellow acetate layered between matte black acetate. The glasses feature diamond-shaped rivets, yellow skiving, a key hole bridge, real seven barrel hinges, and the signature anniversary logo. Priced at $270 dollars they are only available as ophthalmic glasses.

Moscot Lemtosh Wood

The Lemtosh Wood is another limited edition pair of frames that Moscot has introduced for its anniversary. As the name implies, these frames feature real wood inlays on the frames and temples. Perfect for those that have an alternative fashion sense, these frames are available as either ophthalmic glasses or sunglasses and go for $290.

Moscot Lemtosh Fold

The last pair of glasses that Moscot has introduced for its anniversary, and their most expensive at $390 dollars, are the Lemtosh Fold. Moscot says these glasses “kick history forward, combining classic design with cutting edge technology for a frame that is pocket-sized perfection”. The reinforced snap magnets allow the glasses to collapse and fold into a small size. The glasses are made from acetate and feature magnetic vertical hinges, diamond-shaped rivets, and the 100 year anniversary logo on the inside of the frames. They are only available as sunglasses with real glass.
