The German based safe company, Dottling has been producing high-end safes for nearly a century. Originally formed as a locksmith company by Ernst Dottling in 1919, the Dottling family makes some of the nicest safes money can buy. One of their premier safes, The Fortress, brings in a new wave of security mixed with style. The safe features a premium leather on the outside that comes in a variety of different colors, coating the super strong interior. This safe in particular is made for watches, jewelry, cigars, and other small valuables. The safe is also extremely high tech. The watch compartments have 8 electronically operated watch winders that using an advanced software calculate the winding and calibration of the watch accordingly. There is a built-in humidor made of Spanish cedar and has a computer system that monitors the humidity and air pressure of the humidor and adjusts accordingly, ensuring that ones cigars are kept pristine. The humidor also features a high quality barometer and hygrometer made by Wempe, which complement the style of the safe.
The Fortress also features additional compartments and cabinets for various jewelry and additional watches. The safe itself is rated and available in certified security classes ranging from VdS/EN 3 to VdS/EN 5. The Fortress also has a silent alarm hooked up in case of the rare event where the contents of the safe are compromised. The safes security ratings gives the customer with the insurance that it can cover up to $1,000,000 dollars. Considering this safe is primarily meant for watches and cigars, its hard to imagine many people with a watch collection of over $1,000,000 (but I’m sure they are out there). When it comes down to it, The Fortress is a brilliantly designed and amazing looking piece of German engineering, and it is sure to keep all of your valuables well protected, while maintaining extreme elegance.
