A Look Into The Beautiful World of Namiki Pens

Namiki

For most people a simple pen from an office supplies store is sufficient enough for their needs, however there are a few people that demand the best writing utensil that money can buy. Most people would immediately think of brands like Mont Blanc, however there are many other luxury pen manufacturers out there that offer truly amazing writing instruments. One of those companies would be Namiki.
Namiki is a Japanese brand of luxury pens and writing utensils that aim to offer a more unique product compared to some of their competitors. As you can already probably gather, their pens are intricate and amazing works of art. Namiki is well known for maki-e designs and artwork, which is a form of Japanese lacquer. Essentially they take rare materials like gold or silver, for example, and then grind them down into dust. They then mix the metals together with other ingredients to form a material like a paint. From there they carefully use that lacquer to paint extremely intricate patters and designs onto their pens.

All of their pens are obviously produced by hand and they feature a variety of different patters, themes, and depictions. Namiki only produces fountain pens that either have a clip or ones that have no clip at all. They have a few different collections of pens, all of which are absolutely spectacular and worthing checking out. They take great pride in their work, and rightfully so. While other luxury pens are fairly simple and more conservative, the designs that Namiki uses truly make them very unique and special. This obviously comes at a price as all of the pens cost a few thousand dollars. However when you start to think of their pens as works of art and what goes into making them, you begin to understand why they are so expensive.
