Let’s take a Look at the Wavekat P70 Personal Watercraft

Outside the world of “functional” water vehicles like yachts and sailboats, there are a variety of other vessels that are specifically designed for fun and enjoyment. Speed boats and Jet Ski’s often come to mind, but what if you want something a little different? With the tagline “experience driving on the water”, the Wavekat P70 is a unique marine recreational vehicle that has been designed to operate like a supercar. Other recreational vehicles on the water operate differently than traditional automobiles, so instead of learning how to drive a new type of vehicle, the Wavekat has been designed to operate exactly like a car.

The Wavekat P70 is high-performance vehicle that features a steering wheel, a dashboard, and pedals that are exactly like those found in a car. Produced by Marine Toys & Tenders, the Wavekat P70 has a catamaran design that delivers a stable ride and allows the Wavekat P70 to cut right through the water at insane speeds. It is essentially a water go-kart and you can pull 90-degree turns at high speeds with incredible ease. You can also expect to get some air in the Wavekat given how light it is. The combination of its asymmetrical catamaran hull and its lightweight body allow it to achieve speeds up to 35 knots (40.2 mph) on the water. While that may seem just “okay”, it certainly feels much faster on the water in an open-cockpit vehicle.

The Wavekat isn’t really a functional vehicle given its single-seat design, however it’s probably some of the most fun that you can have in the water. It’s fast and agile, and it looks really cool as well. But again, the main selling point of the Wavekat P70 is how easy it is to operate. If you can drive a car, then you can pilot the Wavekat. Additionally the vehicle has been designed to fit a variety of different outboard motors, however they recommend that you use the Tohatsu 70 EPTOL 2-stroke engine. As appealing as the Wavekat P70 is, it is still very much a luxury vehicle considering the price is $22,500 dollars per unit. With that kind of money you could purchase a few Jet Ski’s or have a nice powerboat that can accommodate more than one person. But you will arguably have more fun in the Wavekat, and that is exactly what it’s all about. If you’re interested in purchasing one, then head on over to Marine Toys and Tenders for more information.
