Opal is Considered the Comeback Gem of 2015

Opal is making a comeback

The jewelry industry, like any industry that relates to fashion and style, is experiencing a trend right now where more and more companies are shifting to produce pieces that feature opal. While diamonds, emeralds, and rubies are always popular gems to use, sometimes you’ve got to mix it up a bit and opal is a good choice.

Opal is a from of silica that actually has a certain amount of water in it, typically ranging from 6% to 10%. It comes in a variety of different colors and it is certainly a unique stone to use. Recently many companies like Cartier are opting to use opal, so it seems that opal is now the comeback gem of 2015.

Opal is extremely unique as no two stones are exactly identical. While many diamonds can appear the same, that is not the case with this interesting stone. That fact makes it perfect for jewelers that want to design extremely creative pieces, and above all else, it is a beautiful stone. Opal can also come in a wide range of colors. While the rainbow-like opals are the most iconic, opal can also come in milky white, pink, yellow, orange, blue, and a variety of other colors. So no matter what the piece or what your style is, you can find some opal to fit in with your look.

For some reasons or another, opal is making a comeback and many jewelers are releasing pieces that feature opal in favor of diamonds or emeralds. So if you’ve got an opal piece of jewelry, make sure you break it out to show your friends that you are current with jewelry trends.
