The Music Stores And Recording Studios Of Denmark Street

Guitars are a staple amongst rockstars all across the world; it is scientifically proven to make you look cooler when you hold a guitar (kidding). Since the electric guitar was invented years ago, there have been many different guitar companies that have popped up. The most well respected guitars are typically made in America, and start around $1,000 dollars for entry level ones. The most sought after guitars are either guitars signed by famous musicians or guitars that are from the 1960’s and the 1970’s. There are so many guitars out there, however one of them has to be the most expensive ever. You won’t believe how much it costs.

After the tsunami devastated parts of Asia in 2004, a benefit auction took place in Qatar to help the victims of the disaster. So Fender and a “few” notable musicians and guitar players came together to make a Stratocaster guitar even more special. The guitar featured signatures from nearly evert famous musician. It was signed by Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, Brian May, David Gilmour, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Mark Knopfler, Pete Townshend, Tony Iommi, Angus Young, Malcolm Young, Sting, Ritchie Blackmore, the members of Def Leppard, Bryan Adams, Liam Gallagher, and Paul McCartney.

The guitar was sold for $2.8 million  to Sheihka Miyyassah Al Thani who is the heir to the throne of Quatar and is also the chairwoman of the Reach Out to Asia Foundation. It was purchased after a fierce bidding war, given the nature of the item and how valuable it is. The guitar officially broke the world record for the most expensive guitar ever sold and beat out Eric Claptons signature “Blackie” Stratocaster which was sold at an auction in New York City for $959,000 dollars back in 2004. To date, there has been no other guitar to cost as much as this one.
