On December 31, 2014, The Charles Hotel in Munich, Germany will host the “Night of the Diamond” event, where guests who ring in the new year at the luxury hotel will have a chance to walk away with a genuine 0.5-carat diamond valued at a crisp $3,000. The Charles Hotel has partnered with the exquisite Bucherer jewelry company for the night’s event and plans on placing the glittering diamond in one lucky guest’s champagne flute. During the “Diamond Champagne Reception,” each guest will receive a champagne flute with a crystal in the bottom. However, only one of those flutes will be holding the real diamond, which will be confirmed by the on-site jeweler. Located in the hotel’s 650-square foot Presidential Suite Monforte, the night’s special event will feature a lavish eight-course meal, a cocktail and champagne reception, a DJ, live music from a soulful jazz pianist, and breathtaking panoramic views of the night sky–which will become lit with fireworks displays come midnight. The hotel’s Restaurant Davvero will offer dishes with names including “Diamant Brut,” “Deep Sea Brilliant,” and “Luxury Facets,” while king crab canapés, spiny lobster, and shrimp dumplings will be among the night’s delicacies.
Tickets for the night’s standard event will cost each guest around $440, while tickets for the “Private Night of the Diamonds” all-inclusive package will cost guests, along with family or friends, an estimated $25,500 for up to 12 people (tickets can be reserved through this link). The package includes the following: a one night stay for two guests in the Presidential Suite Monforte, limousine transfer for two guests from the airport to The Charles Hotel, in-suite check-in, unpacking and pressing service for your evening attire, an in-suite aperó-bar in the afternoon, an eight-course meal prepared by Italian chef Giovanni Russo, access to the “Night of the Diamond” event, a complimentary breakfast the following morning, and a two hour guided New Year’s tour around Munich on January 1, 2015.
