Kitchen Blowtorching at the Next Level with the Searzall

For those who love to cook at home, a stove and oven simply do not cut it as the only appliance needed. Professional chefs use a wide range of tools and appliances to prepare their dishes, and these appliances are largely missing from the average consumers kitchen. One of these appliances would be a blow torch. Chefs use a blow torch for a variety of different things from completing creme brûlées or searing a steak; the blow torch is a staple. However for most people it is a dangerous appliance that many people are afraid to operate. Well a new product is on the market known as the Searzall, and will completely re-invent the blow torch and how it is used in a kitchen.

The Searzall is a hand-held broiler that can be applied for a variety of different uses in the kitchen. The device is produced by Booker and Dax which are a “food science development company” who aim to produce high-quality culinary inventions for both professional kitchens and home cooks. Lead by Dave Arnold, Booker and Dax developed the Searzall and then funded it with a Kickstarter campaign. The originally hoped to raise $80,000 dollars but ended up raising $226,425 dollars in the end.

The Searzall is an attachment placed on a standard blow torch to turn it into a hand-held broiler. Touchers are good for soldering, yet when used in the kitchen they always give food a weird taste similar to fuel. This product helps eliminate that in a revolutionary way by redirecting the flame of the torch through two layers of super fine, heat-resistant alloy mesh. This turns most of the flame into infra-red heat, and is a perfect tool for finishing off a variety of food, namely low temperature meats. The heat distribution also allows for a greater surface area of cooking, ensuring your food is more evenly cooked. This product is perfect for cooking steaks evenly and fast, while ensuring the inside is tender and rare. You can purchase the Searzall from Amazon for $75 dollars.
