Johnnie Walker is one of the scotch industry’s top producers that is always bringing in sales. With their wide variety of scotch whisky blends many people are able to get hooked on the company and their product at different price points. The most expensive Johnnie Walker product is their Blue Label scotch which is sold for for around $200 per bottle. Considering how expensive this product is, the company always attempts to include some perks for buyers so that they are more inclined to give it a try, and now Johnnie Walker is introducing their “Smart Bottle”.

The “Smart Bottle” is a concept that Johnnie Walker has developed where it delivers personalized messages, promotional offers, or even cocktail recipes to their customers on their smart phones with the use of printed sensor tags. The first Blue Label Smart Bottle will be revealed to the public at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month and helps make the product more secure as well.

This is a win win strategy for the scotch makers because it helps to keep their products safer while also opening up a new mobile marketing option. The additional content will help keep the brand on their customer’s minds as well as offering deals and discounts to create more sales.

Technology seems to be finding a way into all industries one way or another and Johnnie Walker has discovered how they can utilize it as well. It works similar to a QR code where people can scan it and be linked to a web page, app, or something else tech related. It will be interesting to see this displayed in person and how well it actually works, but it’s neat that Johnnie Walker is finding another way to diversify their products and appear to consumers in a modern way.
