Exploring the Ocean Depths with the U-Boat Worx’s New HP Sport Sub 2

U-Boat Worx HP Sport Sub 2

If you have enough money you really can buy almost anything. If you’ve ever wanted a personal submarine for recreational use, or simply for the fact that you can afford one, the HP Sport Sub 2 from U-Boat Worx is pretty cool. U-Boat Worx is a company from the Netherlands that produces small submarines, and the HP Sport Sub 2 is their newest and most compact model to date.

The vessel is fairly small and compact compared to other vehicles within its class: it weighs around 4,800 pounds and is 4.3 feet tall. This small size makes it a perfect submarine that can be easily transported on land, or fit into the dock on a super yacht. The company says it is compatible with any yacht over 100 feet in length, which is good news for many yacht owners looking for a submarine. While small, the submarine does have enough room to fit the operator and a passenger in addition to some limited luggage space.

Despite the subs smalls size it can take on some pretty big adventures. The HP Sport Sub 2 is outfitted with six thrusters in total, making it very maneuverable. The machine can achieve speeds of three knots above-water, and two knots underwater. Additionally you can put a more powerful propulsion system in for extra that allows it to achieve five knots above water, and three knots underwater. The submarines control UI is intuitive and straightforward, allowing future users to learn how to pilot the vehicle with ease. When the sub is fully stocked with fuel and oxygen, the submarine can travel to depths of 330 feet and can stay submerged for up to six hours. The submarine also has a really attractive dome-like windshield that allows passengers to be completely immersed in their underwater world. The HP Sport Sub 2 seems like a promising machine for what it is. Unfortunately this small submarine has a fairly large price-tag, $1.35 million to be exact. But I’m sure if you own a yacht and are looking to purchase a personal submarine, you can probably afford this.
