The Most Expensive Cities in France

The Parliamentary Headquarters Of Major Eurozone Nations

France is easily one of the most desirable places to live in the world because of the beauty throughout its different landscapes; however, it is also one of the most expensive countries to live in. The cities of France are all magnificent but certain ones can end up costing a ton to live in, and homeowners won’t even be getting that much space or land with their house. These are the most expensive cities in France.

5. Bordeaux

Bordeaux itself is a smaller town and area in France but that’s never a bad thing. The biggest draw to Bordeaux is that it is one of the major wine cities in France and offers some of the world’s best wines right at homeowners fingertips. Bordeaux is located in the Southwest portion of the country and stretches out to the coast of the Atlantic ocean, so finding a home with a view is possible here. Bordeaux offers a very relaxing landscape and place to live in.

4. Nice

Nice is the fifth most populated city in France and also sits on the Mediterranean coastline backed by stunning mountains. The city has a very busy port where there are always people coming and going so there is a little more of a hectic flow moving through the streets. Nice isn’t filled with skyscrapers but has an older feel to it with the smaller buildings that go on for days and even stretch up into the hillsides for some amazing views. The city is quaint and a very satisfying destination to live in.

3. Marseille

Marseille is the second largest city in France and sits right on the Mediterranean sea. It has massive historical value and was the most important port for trading within France, but now is a very luxurious destination for people to live in. The Provence-Alpes area of France is absolutely stunning and features a ton of very small villages that are quiet and peaceful. The area features some of the lavender fields that France is well known for but has a wonderful year round climate and plenty of vineyards that stretch out over the hills.

2. Lyon

Lyon is located in more of the central France area and is about halfway between Paris and Marseille. Lyon has amazing gardens and lakes that are great to sit beside on a nice day, but for those interested in more to do, the city has a ton of museums that will provide an influx of culture and art. The architecture of Lyon dates all the way back to the Renaissance but has a large grouping of buildings that come from the 17th and 18th centuries and continue to provide the city with a very authentic feel.

1. Paris

Paris is one of the top places everyone would like to live, it’s got so much to do and see that there is always plenty to occupy residents. Aside from all of the main tourist attractions, France has a ton of great cafes and places to eat that are tucked back in the quiet cobblestone streets. The city is one of the most expensive in the world, but the homes are relatively affordable compared to the country’s other areas.
