Five Things You Didn’t Know about the Motorola Atrix

Smart phones are not uncommon in today’s society. In fact, it seems everyone from elementary age students to your great grandmother has a smart phone, and one of the most popular phones on the market today is the Motorola Atrix. This phone is an Android based device, which means it has many of the same capabilities as other Android devices, but it’s not the same phone. Read on to find out five things you might not know about the Atrix. It might make you want to switch your phone.

Turn off Predictive Text

One of the most irritating things about this particular phone is that it loves to predict what you’re trying to type – and it more often than not ends up creating autocorrect fails. You can turn off this feature simply by going to your settings, opening language and keyboard, choosing input followed by text input and clicking on prediction. It will then give you the option to turn the predictive text on or off.

Send Contacts to Voicemail

Anytime you don’t feel like receiving calls from anyone in particular (the office, your mom…) you can send them straight to voicemail without alerting them to the fact. Simply go into your contacts and choose the person you don’t want to receive calls from. Open the contact and go to the bottom of the contact page and choose the option that reads, “Send to Voicemail,” to prevent calls from showing up at all.

New Keyboard

One of the issues many people have with their smart phones is the fact that they don’t like their particular keyboard. Perhaps the buttons are too close together or they constantly make mistakes because it’s too dissimilar to their last phone’s keyboard. All you have to do if you want a new keyboard is go to the app launcher, go to settings, then language and keyboard, and choose input method. From there, simply choose the keyboard you’d rather have.

Create Custom Security

Swiping the screen is typically how most smart phones work, but you can make your own custom security changes. By going into your settings settings and choosing the security feature, you can choose a custom security pattern that will confuse people trying to get into your phone. A thief, your kids, friends who think it would be funny to fill your camera with inappropriate selfies…

Battery Killers

Many people wonder why their battery dies so quickly on their smart phone. While it could just be from excessive use, it could also be your location services. To correct this, go to settings and click on the link to your social media accounts and maps, check that the location settings are off. If they’re not, turn them off and see how much battery you save.
