You'll Have to Get Approved by Ford to Buy The New GT as The Company Incorporates a Vetting Process

Limited production supercars are already difficult vehicles to acquire, but then companies can make it even more challenging to buy them, like Ferrari for example. Ferrari is notorious for vetting and “approving” potentially customers to buy their cars, meaning that you can’t just go to a dealer and pick one up. Ferrari ensures that their future owners will drive and take care of their new car, and respect the Ferrari name. Well it seems as though Ford will adopt a similar way of handling the launch of their upcoming Ford GT, as you will have to be approved to be able to then buy one.

Ford isn’t a company known for these business practices, however their new GT is probably one of the most anticipated cars from the brand in a very long time. Prospective buyers will have to fill out an application and then allow Ford to vet you if you want one. The lengthy application is comprised of questions like “how many Ford’s have you owned in the past?”, “how often will you drive the GT?”, and even “how active are you on social media?”, among many others. If you fail the application then you will not be able to buy a Ford GT new.

Ford is introducing this new vetting process as they want to ensure that future owners of their GT will be passionate about the car, driving it regularly, and properly taking care of it. This practice has worked and continues to work for Ferrari, but will Ford be able to pull it off? Well given the hype around this new car, I’m sure they’re going to have a large stack of applications from potential customers who are eager to own a GT.
