The Rolls Royce Dawn Lives in the Moment

dawn

Since March 15, 1906, Rolls-Royce has been synonymous with luxury. The day the company was founded in England, it was a legend; that doesn’t happen all that often. Through the ups and downs of making some of the most expensive, most exclusive, most desirable vehicles in the industry, the company has been through it all; defunct, rebranded, changed, made better; but through it all, it’s remained a powerhouse of luxury and beauty. There’s no Rolls-Royce in my driveway but if there was, it would certainly be the brand new Rolls-Royce Dawn. I just need a few fewer kids and a few million more in the bank.

Sleek. Sophisticated. Elegant. Classy. Gorgeous. Beautiful. Perfect. I could go on, but you get the point by now that the new Dawn is what all car dreams consist of. It’s like the beginning of a new day after a long night. It’s the refreshing start of something new and something absolutely amazing; it’s the hottest of the hottest. Put the top up on a rainy day, or drop it for a gorgeous drive through the countryside or along the beach; whatever you do, it’s fun. What I love most about this car is that the top is a one-push, silent top that folds down in mere seconds – something that even my husband’s little two-seater cannot do without taking about a million years.

There’s nothing about the Dawn that doesn’t scream Rolls. The classic shape of the body is all Rolls-Royce, but that’s what you want at this price point. The interior is sleek, but it’s also as elegant as the come. Designed to very comfortably seat four passengers, this is the perfect vehicle to take on date night and a quick trip. The back seat is designed with its own center console extending back from the front, and the seats are made of the highest-quality leather. Nothing about sitting in this car is uncomfortable, especially since you get not only individual climate controls for every seat, but individual in that you can change the temperate at your feet versus the temperate at the core of your body versus the temperate at your face.

The wood-grain interior is top-of-the-line and even extends back to cover the roof when it goes down, which is class personified. All four seats are emblazoned with the class RR symbol, which might not sound like a big deal but it will make for much more entertaining selfies when the car is full and everyone wants that one shot of themselves riding in a Rolls. The dash is simple, but all the most elegant things are. Its sleekness is accomplished by leaving the vehicle unlined and simple; you won’t find dozens of buttons, high-tech screens or distractions here. It’s timeless in a way that vehicles made decades ago were, but it’s all there – including a touch screen navigation system and an iPod system.

We know you don’t need convincing that this car is nothing short of hot, and that you’re more interested in what you don’t see than what you do. Under the hood of this piece of perfection is a 6.6-litre V12 with 563 horsepower. The twin turbo engine means power, but it’s also quiet and refined in every sense of the word. Don’t be fooled, either; this car weighs more than 5,600 pounds. If you love the new Rolls-Royce Dawn, you can order your own for only around $400,000.
