Shelby American To Debut 427 Cobra At Barrett-Jackson

A Shelby Cobra

All Shelby American cars are a sight to see and are a rarity in the automobile world nowadays. The beautifully crafted vehicles are sleek and unique with very powerful engines under the hood. Now, as the 50th anniversary of Shelby American approaches, people will have the chance to bid on 50 427 Cobras at the Barrett Jackson Auction that is located in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 13th.

The 427 Cobra is a masterpiece that looks amazing and set the bar for fellow car creators when it was initially released in 1965. The small curvy car was the first real display that a car of that size could pack a major punch and house a ton of power. The 427 was the first “hyper car” ever released and the ones that are being auctioned will even be fitted with Ford big block engines. The Cobra is a classic model that everyone knows or at least recognizes, and it is also a car with tons of history behind it. When it first released the Shelby Cobra was winning many awards and coming in first place in races throughout the country.

The 50 anniversary Cobras will still have the same body design and suspension as the originals but everything is being upgraded to fit the modern safety codes, style and performance standards. The Shelby Cobras are receiving the top of the line treatment and will have the best interior features as well as a racing style fuel tank, custom gauges, and special badges on various spots.

Snagging on of these updated Cobras would be an absolutely treat for car collectors everywhere and on January 13th they will get their chance. The 50th Anniversary 427 Cobra is opening up at a price of $119,995 for the fiberglass body model while the aluminum models will start at an auction price of $179,995. The cars are all documented in the World Registry and probably won’t pop up for sale at auction again in a very long time.
