Ferarri Testarossa Spider Expected To Fetch $1M At Auction

Ferrari Testarossa Spider

Out of all the vehicle that came out during the 1980’s, many would argue that the Testarossa was not only one of the best ones, but one of the greatest cars that Ferrari has ever produced. Since the vehicle was released it has remained to be one of the most popular and iconic Ferrari’s ever, even to this day. However there was also the mythical Testarossa Spider, a car that seemingly did not exist. Ferrari only produced less than a handful and it was believed that nearly all were in the hands of the Sultan of Brunei. As it turns out there is another Ferrari Testarossa Spider out there, and it’s going to be auctioned off at an Artcurial Motorcars event, as they have announced:

This is the only official Testarossa Spider to be commissioned and built by Ferrari. It was produced for Gianni Agnelli, then the president of Fiat, who requested an open version of the emblematic model he loved. The silver theme refers to the periodic table abbreviation for silver: Ag, the first two letters of Agnelli’s name. The car’s unique features include a blue stripe above the black sills and a white hood.

So as it does turn out, this extremely rare Ferrari not only exists, but people will have the opportunity to buy the vehicle. And to top it all off, it was a one-off that was produced for the former president of Fiat, which makes it even more valuable.

The Ferrari Testarossa Spider will be auctioned at Retromobile 2016 which will be held in Paris between February 3rd and February 7th. It has been estimated that the vehicle will sell for somewhere between $750,000 and $1 million dollars, however I would even go as far to bet that the car will be sold for an even higher amount. For the longest time this car was just a dream and no one had the opportunity to own an official Ferrari Testarossa Spider, so this is quite a big deal, to say the least.
