Dodge’s $60,000 Challenger SRT Hellcat Has Detroit Written All Over It

The 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat

Dodge, an American automotive manufacturer and division of Chrysler Group LLC, has worked tirelessly alongside SRT engineers to create “the most powerful muscle car ever”: the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. With a current MSRP starting at just under $60,000, this piece of modern Detroit muscle is worth every penny. According to Dodge, not only is it the most powerful muscle car ever made, but it’s also the fastest muscle car ever made. The monstrous Challenger SRT Hellcat is all about extreme power and performance, featuring an all-new supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 Hellcat engine–the most powerful production V8 engine ever–that outputs a stated 707 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque, enabling the Hellcat to reach a top speed of 199 miles per hour, go from zero to 60 in just over three seconds, and cover a quarter mile in only 10.8 seconds. “It sits quietly, patiently, like it’s stalking prey. Then suddenly, your red key unlocks and awakens the unprecedented 707 horsepower of the most powerful muscle car on the planet. It’s time to roll.”

Not only does the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat provide unrivaled performance, but it includes a number of other special features and unique technologies that puts the Hellcat in a class of its own. The driver’s side parking lamp has been deleted to enable an Air Catcher cold air intake, helping the supercharged HEMI deliver its record breaking horsepower and torque. The Hellcat also provides the option of choosing either a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission or a Tremac six-speed manual transmission and features maximum exterior aerodynamics (the Hellcat spent “35 percent more time in the wind tunnel”), 15.4-inch Brembo two-piece front brake rotors, Brembo six-piston front calipers, Brembo 13.8-inch rear calipers, a 20-inch aluminum wheel and Pirelli tire package, a pair of outboard air extractors to help lower engine bay temperatures, massive air scoops that feed the engine, the intercooler, and the front brakes, 11 exterior color options, a heritage-inspired driver’s cockpit that includes classic gauge faces and a seven-inch Driver Information Display, and an interior featuring four premium color options, luxurious Laguna leather and Alcantara appointments, and more than 125 potential configurations and customizable features.
