The Custom-Built Cadillac "Cad Attack"

Designed and built by noted automotive customizer Greg Westbury for his father, a beautifully customized 1949 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Custom “Cad Attack” is expected to fetch upwards of $100,000 at RM Auctions next month. Featured in numerous magazines–including two appearances on the cover of Custom Rodder–the “Cad Attack” is a completely tailored masterpiece of automotive customization that still retains its classic Cadillac vibe. Featuring a 454-cubic inch V8 engine–capable of producing up 400 horsepower–modified with a RV camshaft and Edelbrock carburetor and intake mated to an updated 700-R4 automatic transmission, the “Cad Attack” is much more than a remarkable aesthetic marvel. The custom automobile also features “a ’79 Seville front clip that has been expertly grafted to the original frame,” hand-crafted ladder bars, Carrera coil-overs, a Currie rear end, Willwood disc brakes on all four corners, a modern independent front suspension, and a coil-spring rear suspension.

With a minimal custom-fitted grey cloth streamlined interior matched by the dashboard and various interior elements, the “Cad Attack’s” exterior hand-crafted body is highlighted by a Carson-style removable cloth-covered chopped hardtop, a one-piece custom windshield, Mercedes-Benz headlamps, ’91 Cadillac tail lamps, a single blade custom grille, ’56 front and rear Chevy bumpers with an integrated license plate holder, and massive 18-inch and 20-inch Foose wheels wrapped in Z-rated BFGoodrich tires. Other fine and minimal touches include modified wheel arches, panel gap alterations, an extended hood, and a shaved trim. According to RMAuctions.com, “This extraordinary creation reflects a labor of love that can only come from the best craftsmen.” The custom vehicle is set to go under the hammer on November 15th at RM Auctions and currently has an estimated price tag of $80,000 to $100,000 and has no reserve.
