Jaguar has always been known as a prominent automobile manufacturer that specializes in luxury vehicles. Out of all the vehicles that the company produced, their E-Type was arguably the most famous. It was a small, two-seater roadster that was just a blast to drive (when it started) and many people consider it to be the most beautiful car of all time. Still after the passing of the E-Type, Jaguar turned its attention to larger and more practical cars. At least they did until they introduced the F-Type in 2013. The F-Type is considered to be the “spiritual successor” of the E-Type, and it is currently their fastest vehicle. Sitting on top of the F-Type line is the F-Type R Coupe, and it is the fastest car that Jaguar currently sells. Let’s take a closer look at this impressive vehicle.
The F-Type R Coupe starts at around $99,900 dollars making it the most expensive F-Type currently in the lineup. While it may not look as good as the classic E-Type (which is all subjective), this Jaguar still is enjoyable to gaze at. Essentially for this particular model, Jaguar threw everything they could at it to make it their best performing vehicle that they currently sell. The car is powered by a supercharged 5.0 liter V8 engine that delivers 550hp and 502lb-ft of torque. That is certainly very impressive for a car this size. That engine allows this F-Type to achieve a top speed of 186mph and it can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 3.9 seconds. Not many sub-$100,000 cars can do that.
You’ll also find plenty of advanced features and attractive options in this F-Type. It has got 20-inch Gyrodyne Silver alloy wheels, quad exhaust pipes, a performance braking system, an electronic active differential system, torque vectoring, premium leather racing seats, climate control, optional carbon-fiber parts, and plenty of other features. You can rip up the track in this car for sure. Since it’s a Jag, the interior also looks really premium and it feels extremely comfortable to ride. What Jaguar has done with the F-Type R Coupe is create really the only vehicle worthy of calling itself the successor of the E-Type. As much as we love the E-Type, this F-Type is truly an amazing vehicle. You get a whole lot of car here, and with respect to the price, it’s pretty affordable considering what it can do. This F-Type is proof that Jaguar can still make superb sports cars, and I know that I would like to have one.
