Meet The Fastest Production Car In The World: The 1,500 HP Bugatti Chiron

Bugatti Chiron

We’ve been waiting for quite some time now to see Bugatti’s successor to the legendary Veyron, and it’s finally here. Bugatti has unveiled the all-new Chiron ahead of it’s official Geneva Motor Show launch, and it’s probably everything we could ever want in a supercar. It’s impressive looking, packed with advanced features, extremely luxurious, and it’s officially the worlds fastest production car. Come say hello to the Chiron.

When Bugatti created the Veyron Super Sport, it officially became the fastest production car of all-time. When you create the fastest road car ever, it’s a bit of a challenge to outdo yourself, but leave it up to Bugatti to do just that. The Chiron’s design draws influence from the old Veyron, yet it’s still distinctly new. They’ve improved the vehicles aerodynamics and refined the car’s aesthetic, resulting in a vehicle that looks great from all angles and one that’s distinctly a Bugatti. The Chiron features an all-new carbon-fiber monocoque and rear-sub frame as well, and apparently it takes them four weeks to make just one monocoque.

But let’s cut to the chase, this car is absurdly powerful. Bugatti has increased the overall performance of the vehicle by a factor of 25% compared to its predecessor. The Chiron is rocking an absurdly large, 8.0-liter W16 with four, yes four, turbochargers. The car pumps out an absurd 1,500 hp in total and 1,600 Nm of torque. Many speculated about if Bugatti would make the Chiron a hybrid to compete with cars like the McLaren P1 or the LaFerrari, however it doesn’t need an electric engine at all. The Chiron is able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in less than 2.5 seconds and it can go from o to 186 mph in just 13.6 seconds. But what about the top speed? Don’t worry, as the Chiron will be able to reach speeds of 261 mph, which is 3 mph faster than the Veyron Super Sport, the previous title holder of the worlds fastest production car.

According to reports, Bugatti had to actually limit the top speed to 261 mph due to “safety concerns”, as it just offers that much power. Bugatti will be testing a Chiron without the limiter to break the world record, and they believe that one will attain speeds of over 270 mph!

We will hear more from Bugatti during their Geneva Motor Show presentation this week, and it will likely be the most impressive car of the show. Bugatti says that only 500 Chirons will be produced in total, and it’s expected to cost around $2.6 million dollars. Apparently they’ve already taken one third of the orders, and it’s expected to sell out quite soon. Bugatti plans to make delivers sometime this fall, and we cannot wait to see what this car can do on the roads.
