Bentley is Now Offering Real Stone as an Interior Option in Their Cars

Stone Veneers by Mulliner The Next Level of Modern British Luxury Bentley

Luxury car manufacturers use a range of different premium materials to make their cars special. Typically they incorporate various types of wood, some leathers, and maybe even carbon fiber. But what about stone? Well as it turns out we may soon see cars with stone in them, as Bentley is now offering real stone as an interior option.

Mulliner, Bentley’s coachbuilding team, has experimented with a variety of materials in the past, and they are now working with stone. Geoff Dowding, the Director of Operations over at Mulliner, recently said “Bentley is the established expert in the handcrafting of wood and leather, and now we are exploring new, fine and rare materials to offer even more bespoke tailoring and choice to our customers. Stone veneers are another first for Bentley, but only the beginning of what we plan to do with this luxurious and unique material”.

The stone veneers will be offered in four different color combinations: Galaxy, Autumn White, Copper, and Terra Red. For the time being, they will only be available within their Continental and Flying Spur models, but hopefully they will be released to other cars as time goes on. The stone is exceptionally beautiful and it is “hand-selected” from quarries located within Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh in India. The veneer are 0.1 mm thick to keep the weight down, as Bentleys are heavy enough as is. Those that are interested in these stone interior options will have to contact Mulliner to get them placed within a Bentley. There’s no word on how much they cost, but since it’s Bentley that we’re talking about, it’s probably going to be a lot of money, to say the least.
