Most people that own a cellphone probably stick a case on it to help the device from breaking should it be dropped. Now a solid case that looks good and is protective will be more money than those $5 silicon cases from eBay. But how much are you willing to spend to protect your device? The company known as Gray International is selling a mechanically textured iPhone case made from titanium. It’s called “The Advent” and it will run you $1,000 dollars.
The Advent is a fairly straightforward bumper-style case for iPhone’s that wraps around the sides of your device. On the interior of the case is soft rubber as to protect the places on your iPhone where the case touches. The exterior is a two-piece design made from aerospace Grade 5 titanium. Not only is titanium more than double the strength of stainless steel, it’s also half the weight as well (in addition to looking cool). Gray International then uses a mechanically applied textured finish that leaves the case with a satin-like appearance. There aren’t any screws, knobs, or hinges on the case, you just slip it onto your iPhone and you’re good to go. The downside is that it costs $1,000 dollars, which is more money than the full retail price of the base iPhone 6S.
Those that are interested in the case will have to act quick, as Gray International is only producing just 100 examples in total. So is this one of the most expensive iPhone cases in the world? Probably. Sure it’s cool looking and probably does a good job at protecting your phone…but it would be more cost efficient to buy two iPhone 6S’s rather than one iPhone and this case.
