Goldgenie, the company famous for taking consumer electronics and then wrapping them in real gold, has recently unveiled a new iPhone 6S to celebrate the Chinese New Year. They have named the device after the Year of The Monkey and it will run you some $3,600 dollars for one.
As is the case with nearly all phones from Goldgenie, the entire iPhone 6S has been covered in premium 24-karat gold plating. Goldgenie experts measures out the gold plates to ensure that the fit the phone absolutely seamlessly. While this does add some weight and thickness to the very thin device, it certainly elevates the luxury factor to an entirely new level. On the back of the device is a laser engraved image of a monkey with oriental motifs.
Unfortunately, those that are interested in this gold iPhone might have some difficulties acquiring one. Not only is it extremely expensive, Goldgenie is also only producing just 99 units in total.
