Born Troyal Garth Brooks, but dropping his first name, this 52 year old musician is easily the most successful and the biggest name in country music. He broke out into the music scene when he released his first record back in 1989 where it peaked at the number two spot in the US Country charts and number thirteen on the Billboard 200 album charts. Not too bad for his first record. Garth Brooks has gone on to release 10 studio albums, and has another one set to release this upcoming year. According to Nielsen Soundscan, Garth Brooks has sold around 70,000,000 records in total, making him one of the best selling artists of all time. Given that fact, we are going to look at his three best selling albums of all time.

3. Garth Brooks (self-titled) – 10 million units

First up we have Garth Brooks’ self-titled record. It was released in 1989, and was extremely popular and well received. It peaked at number 2 on the country charts, and number 13 on the Billboard 200 charts. The album features popular songs such as “Not Counting on You”, “If Tomorrow Never Comes”, and “The Dance”.

2. Ropin’ the Wind – 15.4 million units 

Next up on our list we have Ropin’ the Wind. This is Garth Brooks third studio album and it was released in 1991. This was his first album to hit the number 1 spot on the Billboard 200 charts and the Top Country charts, in addition to being the first country album to ever reach the number 1 Billboard 200 spot. The album sold over 14 million units in the United States alone, granting a certified RIAA rating of 14 x Platinum.

1. No Fences – 17.8 million units

Released in August of 1990, Garth Brooks’ second album No Fences would go on to be his best selling album of all time. The album peaked at the number 1 country spot and and number 3 on the Billboard 200 charts. It then stayed in the Top 40 for 126 weeks. The album sold 17 million units in the United States alone, and this was the album that really launched Brooks’ career. It features some of his best songs including “The Thunder Rolls”, “Unanswered Prayers”, and “Friends in Low Places”.
