So far in 2014 boutique investment banks have been involved with lots of deals that have brought the companies lots of money to be happy about. These boutique investment banks advise other companies on their huge business deals when they decide to acquire smaller companies for a large amount of money that is under the $500 million cap. Here are the top boutique investment banks according to their deal size in 2014.

5. Greenhill & Co. – $34.9 Billion

Greenhill & Co’s main focus point right now is on Actavis and their purchase of other drug making company Forest Labs. The deal itself is worth $25 billion and is the second largest of 2014 thus far. The company has been doing well and even saw their European advisory fees increase 50% over the past year.

4. LionTree Advisors – $67.9 Billion

LionTree Advisors was only founded a mere two years ago by Aryeh Bourkoff. The company has been hardworking and is one of the hottest firms out there that is always popping up among many media M&A deals. Most recently LionTree acting as an adviser to Charter when they were trying to acquire Time Warner Cable.

3. PJT Capital – $69.8 Billion

PJT Capital was founded when former Morgan Stanley employee, Paul Taubman, left the company to create his own firm. His company has already been involved in a couple of major deals; the first being the Comcast and Time Warner Cable merger and the other being when Taubman was an adviser (individual) in the Verizon and Vodafone deal.

2. Allen & Co. – $89.3 Billion

Allen & Co. is currently operated by family member Herbert Allen, who stepped into running the family business back in 2002 and is the reason behind the company’s success in the tech industry. Allen & Co’s most recent big deal was earlier this year when Facebook decided to acquire WhatsApp (messaging app) for $19 million.

1. Centerview Partners – $92.4  Billion

Centerview was founded back in 2006 and since then has claimed to have advised companies on over $600 billion worth of transactions. The company has been involved in many deals, but the highlight of their portfolio is being the strategic advisers to Time Warner Cable during their $45 million deal with Comcast.
