The New York Stock Exchange is an American stock exchange located on Wall Street in New York City. With a combined market capitalization of over $16 trillion dollars, the New York Stock Exchange is easily the largest stock exchange in the entire world. The New York Stock Exchange was founded on March 8, 1817 by stockbrokers who were operating under the Buttonwood Agreement. Today the New York Stock Exchange is owned by the holding company IntercontinentalExchange with Duncan L. Niederauer operating as its CEO. The New York Stock Exchange runs year round and operates between the hours of 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. however there are a few days each year where the New York Stock Exchange closes down. The following list is all the dates that the New York Stock Exchange closes down for holidays in 2015.

2. Martin Luther King Jr. Day – January 19th

3. George Washington’s Birthday – February 16th

4. Good Friday – April 3rd

5. Memorial Day – May 25th

6. Independece Day – July 4th (observed July 3rd)

7. Labor Day – September 7th

8. Thanksgiving Day – November 26th*

9. Christmas – December 25th**

*All markets will close early on November 27th (day after Thanksgiving) at 1:00 pm. Crossing section orders will be accepted beginning at 1:00pm for continuos executions until 1:30 pm on this date.
