The Five Richest Zipcodes in the United States

Zip codes define the specific town or district that we are from, but having these sectioned groups also gives the country a lot of feedback on the population for a given area. Mainly, zip codes can reveal where the wealthy are flocking to each year and if there are any trends revealing that specific areas are wealthier than others. Take a look at the five richest zip codes in the United States below.

5. Chappaqua, NY (10514)

Chappaqua, NY seems to be doing pretty well right now because data reveals that 63.7% of households in the area are making over $150,000 annually. Chappaqua is located in the northern parts of New York and is attractive for many because of how great the areas local schools are. The location seems to be a really nice landscape and is even the home to Bill and Hilary Clinton.

4. Great Falls, VA (22066)

Great Falls has a total population of just over 19,000 people and out of that, 67% of them are making over $150,000 a year while 94% of residents actually own a home. The area in Virgnia is absolutely stunning and sits right on the Potomac River which offers superb views of natural landscape. Many of the Great Falls residents actually work and commute into Washington D.C. but makes sense because 60% of the families own three cars.

3. Weston, CT (06883)

Connecticut is known for being a wealthy state in general, but has plenty of small towns that are bringing home the bacon, mainly Weston. The big draw of this town is its large amounts of parks and open outside areas which offers plenty of ways to keep everyone outside. 67.3% of Weston’s 10,203 population bring home $150,000 or more.

2. Fairfax Station, VA (22039)

We return to Virginia, but this time Fairfax Station, where 67.8% of the residents are making over $150,000. The location has multiple great public schools and actually attracts a lot of government workers to the area because it is relatively close to Washington D.C. Fairfax Station is mainly home to many middle aged or elderly people and struggles with horrible traffic every day. 10% of the households in Fairfax Station have an astonishing 5 or more cars which might lead to all of the congestion, but that still doesn’t scare people away from living there.

1. Short Hills, NJ (07078)

Yes, I’m just as surprised to see New Jersey landing the top spot as the richest zip code in the United States. The town is right outside of New York City and very attractive for the tons of people who commute into the city each day. However, 69.4% of the people in Short Hills are pulling in $150,000 or more and getting to enjoy a town with great real estate and plenty to do; the township even hosts one of the largest malls in New Jersey.
